And Gallagher said that he'd love to play in Vancouver, potentially, if that's something that does come to pass this offseason.
It does not mean a deal is imminent.
It doesn't mean that he will for sure be a Vancouver Canuck.
But based on what was said today, and based on the Canucks' need for some veteran presence, and perhaps, maybe, just maybe, wanting to reach the cap floor, if they say move out of Jake DeBrusque and more off the roster, then you could still use a Brendan Gallagher type.
My question right now, there's a couple questions we have.
The first one is, what would it cost to get him in the first place?
And then the second question is going to be, how much do you want to dedicate to veteran leaders contract-wise and salary cap-wise as you go through a rebuild?
Let's hit the first thing.
What is the cost of acquisition?
Is there actually a cost benefit where you can get something back in return?
Or has the landscape changed enough in the National Hockey League with a rising cap, enough teams being under the cap floor, 32 teams and few free agent options that no sweetener may also be in the cards?
How do you see his value, so to speak?
Would you do it for a sixth or a seventh?
That might push me over, yeah.

Honestly, it's not that it's huge, but it's like, I don't want to give anything up.
Now, if all you're giving up is a contract, let's say...
the defenseman they have, Schultz, for instance, who's like a veteran type, you know, AHL guy.
If you're moving a contract like that out and swapping and not getting anything, whatever.
