And, you know, you were talking about Canucks finishing third.

That's a good outcome.

Well...

People are like, what are you talking about?

You want to get top two?

And I agree, you want top two, but the benefit of finishing last isn't so much the draft lottery odds.

You want to get the best odds, but there's still 25% chance, 45% chance of getting a top two pick.

And that's still better than the alternative, of course.

But the most important part of finishing last is guaranteeing that you're not falling out of the top three.

Now, considering it's a two-horse race this year, you kind of feel like the bridesmaid being left out if you don't get a top two pick.

But as we know with drafts, what you think of it going into it and how it ends up a few years later could be really different.

So it all comes down to pick the right player no matter what, and we'll see how it goes.

But because there's such a defined top two, at least from the outside looking in, that's why there is this fear of falling to number three and not getting one of the top two guys.
