But actually, understanding it makes me appreciate it much more.

There's almost none of his songs that are purely happy or purely sad.

Take one.

Say Fast Love.

That's like just a dance floor banger.

It's all about wanting to sleep with people and have a one night stand.

But also there's grief in it.

It's about losing someone.

There's real deep sadness.

And then you listen to a song like Jesus Child, which is about grief.

And it's also a real celebration.

There's moments of real happiness in it.

And that was George.

He could get both of those moods.

brilliantly and the Beatles did it but I think that came from the tension between John and Paul who were happy and sad people and he came from that but this is just one man is in him that's interesting that in one of his compilations you know he had I think one CD was for the heart and one was for the feet you know dance songs and ballads but he was both that um
