We need to create trust.
You need to create a type of corporate culture in a positive way that allows your team to move forward.
And I think that's the thing that NHL teams have been lacking and lagging behind.
And the Canucks have a unique opportunity right now to embrace that type of reality.
And if they do, they could be on the cutting edge moving forward.
But the question is, are you willing to do that?
Because it's just been... Like, all these players are so talented now.
But also, like, you have to find selfless players.
But players that... The thing is, somebody who is selfless is also...
You want somebody that has character, but also somebody that can evaluate a situation.
And you have to be able to create an environment where players are feeling safe, like they talked about with Alvin and Rutherford in the past, but not safe in terms of like your physical safety, but more safety in terms of can you be the best version of yourself here?
Can you foster an environment that allows players to develop, get better, and reach the goals and dreams that they have?
If you feel like your dreams can be realized in your position, you're more likely to stay.
If you feel like you can't, well, you'll be pursuing another avenue for you to be able to fulfill your dreams.
Not wrong.
No, I know.
And people are, somebody says, you're just saying a bunch of words that culture is winning.
That's all to get there.
You need talent, draft, or trade.
Hope the Canucks don't overthink things.
