It's like,
you're setting yourself back but when you say hey we're building this device that tracks gut health and hydration and by the way eventually the mission is to become the smoke detector for colon cancer and we think we know how to get there and that's the note that you end on infinitely more compelling so you went out to these investors and you were pitching but you did have a lot of setbacks so talk to us about the hundred no's that you got what what were they concerned about
Privacy.
People didn't believe that there was a market for this device.
People didn't think it was technically feasible to do a smoke detector for colon cancer that could look for fecal occult blood or microhematuria.
People worry about the ick factor.
There's so many reasons someone says no.
And at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter to you as a founder why they said no.
Just take the no and move on.
I will say the hard part about fundraising is it is emotionally gutting.
Exactly.
And like the only thing I can compare to if you've never worked in sales or like done a fundraise is like dating.
But the difference is like, you know, if you're dating really actively, it's like one, maybe two dates a week and you get rejected from those.
Like this is like eight a day.
And like you're so emotionally invested in this because it's your baby.
Yeah.
And like to your point, someone says, no thanks.
And then you have to jump on the next call.
