I feel like I should have known you personally for a long time being in the business, almost as long as you have, but it's great to be here with you today.

Sure.

So my career started in Texas where I grew up.

I grew up in the oil and gas drilling epicenter of East Texas, east of Dallas.

I wanted to be a land man like Billy Bob Thornton, but that didn't work out.

You know, the winds of change blew me in different places and I chose different professions in the early nineties.

After graduating school in Austin, I joined a company in Houston.

and sold gas measurement equipment to process industries throughout the United States for nuclear power, semiconductor, pharma, even brewing and beer.

With that company, I moved to New York City Metro back in the late 90s to go to grad school.

And I met a Jersey girl who was born in Brooklyn.

And of course, being from Texas, opposites attract.

We've been married 25 years.

And it's not easy on times when the Cowboys are playing the Giants and raising two kids.

But, you know, certainly a culture guy.

So from a culture perspective, Texas and New Jersey might be considered a little different, but I see them as the same.

You know, you got J.R.

Ewing, you got Tony Soprano, you got George Strait, you got Bruce Springsteen.

And I could put brisket or Taylor ham on a bagel if needed.

So I've learned a lot.
