They, I think, accept it was a mistake not to do it in the last budget, that people really felt it and that middle class vote that tends to go finna get and finna fall hit back at it.
And when we saw the events of Iran, which in fairness, no government could have predicted, but anyway,
It certainly hit pockets harder.
The other debate is how to spend it, because on one hand, you've got, say, the overrun in the Department of Education, 650 million euro that other departments are now picking up the bill for and demands in literally every sector.
And Simon Harris in particular, in his first budget as finance minister, I interviewed him last week.
And I think he wants to have some sort of a big idea, be that childcare, be that, you know, some sort of his new investment fund, whatever it is.
He wants to come away with this budget with something big and tangible that the government can deliver.
But of course, that costs an awful lot of money and €7 billion of a budget package, which is what we'll have, plus a tax package, sounds like an awful lot of money.
If you get into a public sector pay deal that maybe costs you a billion extra a year, that's one gone.
You know, social welfare increases will be another billion, taxes another billion.
It whittles away quite quickly.
Of course, the agreement was that when there would be no confidence motions, when there'd be important votes, that there'd be two Healy Rays.
And this was the first political test, the hard test.
And what happened?
