But, you know, it's always good on a piece of paper and on the training pitch when you're planning it.
And then the game doesn't always pan out as you expect.
Tonight it more or less did in the sense we thought they'd be tight.
We thought they'd try and stay in their lines and not really move much and defend when they had to and then look to counter when they could.
There was a bit more to it than that tonight.
They had some pockets of good play.
a couple of chances, one early on from a set piece, and then we had to counteract that.
But we have to do that here by still maintaining a tightness to our shape.
I've never made it out that we're an expansive side who can have 600 passes a game, because I don't think that's relevant to this group.
But I think we can play a bit, and I think we can find weaknesses in teams over 95 minutes, and we've done that tonight.
Yeah, you know, a very, very strong start.
And people said about home form, well, there's another thing that's written off, you know, now with that win tonight.
But, no, I've been ever so pleased.
The lads have been fantastic.
They listen, they want to learn, they give everything, as you saw tonight.
And there's a willingness and there's a demand, but there's also some talent there.
You know, the ball for the goal from Johan, I think that's a fantastic cross, you know, under a sort of mayhem in the box, and he's just found a great cross, a great pass from Jeff, and a great press to start the moment for the goal.
You know, a lot of good signs again tonight, I felt.
Well, we just keep getting on with it, you know, and that's what my focus and it's my team's focus.
We don't look, we have to do planning, of course, we have to plan in the boardroom and that sort of thing, but generally we do, what I say, we take each game as it comes and we work on that and then we process the information of the game after the game, debrief it and we move forward again and we keep that clarity of thought and I keep that clarity of thought myself, so...
