How is this offense supposed to take off?
How is this offense supposed to find any rhythm when in the middle of your order, the way that this lineup has been constructed, and sure, there's no consistency yet.
They've only played four games.
But with Cruz leading off in 143 and looking like he had an uncompetitive at-bat late in the game last night, swung it two pitches, saw three, all three were strikes, and just doesn't look that interested at the plate.
You follow that up with Lau, who's your best hitter right now, then Reynolds and Ozuna, then O'Hearn.
You can't find any rhythm, any consistency when, oh, Lau gets on base, then who comes up?

or Ozuna to do nothing.
Then O'Hearn gets a base hit.
