It was, I mean, in retrospect, they never should have hired me.
It was like a terrible idea.
On paper, though, it's a pretty cool resume.

Sounds good to me.
Well, yeah, they're looking for somebody to lead the research on.
And it was like, this is like a very defining experience for me in terms of how to lead a team.
When you're an individual contributor, your whole thing is like, I'm the best at what I do.
You know, I have the best insights or answers or I can execute myself.
But suddenly when you start to lead a team, it's not about you anymore.
And, you know, my first six or 12 months in a leadership role were pretty brutal because
like in terms of trying to learn on the job and transitioning from being an individual contributor to being a kind of leader of that many people.
So it was like the ultimate dropped in the deep end.

So the biggest thing that I learned, and I learned very quickly, because the great thing is when you work in technology, people will tell you,
they'll tell you what they think, right?
