I mean, I spent seven years there and the entire time I felt like I was working in some kind of crazy startup.

You know, similarly with Zalando, when you're doing these kind of like high risk startups,

AI experiment research type stuff.

And Stripe was a startup as well.

We were 10 people sitting around trying to run and build the European payment system.

So when I think about the corporate side of my career, I feel like it was more doing startups inside big companies.

You were clever in how you moved within the corporate world.

I was never interested in being like, hey, you're going to be a mid-manager on a team of 1,000 people responsible for this button on this website.

That was never going to be a job that I was going to be any good at.

Um, so I absolutely love being back in the founder role.

So, um, I was the CTO of a company called Algolia.

Algolia is the second biggest search engine in the world.

It was the first time that I was actually like at the table on the exec team for like a billion dollar company.

And it was really the first time like, you know, could I do this?

Could I be, you know, at the highest leadership level in a bigger growth company?

And I learned so much when I was there.

in that role particularly failure there were tons of failures as a cto um that i took from that but actually the the one thing that i was doing at the time is um i was a uh sequoia scout so i was part of the sequoia program where they give um you know kind of interesting people in tech money and you can go and make investments

And so I had the kind of day job, which was stressful.

I actually describe being an executive in a tech company as being stressful and boring.

It's like the worst combination of the two.
