But they included companies like Lyft, Instacart, Shopify, you know, some of the companies that become one of the most iconic companies.
And so when you look at that initial cohort of startups, many of them died.
There's no question about it.
Out of like that first cohort, a lot of them went to zero and they probably went to zero within the first two years.
But the ones that survived and the ones that really took off made up for all the ones that died a hundred times.
synonymous with success across the world so the story was like the founder of instacart signed up to stripe on a gmail account because he didn't have a name for the company yet and didn't have a domain right and now stripe is processing billions of dollars for instacart globally
And so when I think about the cohort that we're signing up to Seapoint now, as we're just getting started, our cohort is a group of startup founders who have proven themselves because they can raise some money.
And we work with founders before they raise.
But the whole idea is that out of this cohort, the first hundred customers on Seapoint, maybe three quarters of them may not make it two years or another round.
But out of like the quarter that do, they're going to be worth 10 times and 100 times more in the future.
You're almost like an investor.
You're picking.
Think about it this way.
So if you want to be a high growth company, right?
If your customer base organically is growing at 30, 40, 50% a year because they are a portfolio of high-growth startup companies, every single year, assuming you're not churning them, as a portfolio, you're going to get a 30, 40, or 50% growth rate by default without doing anything apart but having a great product that they love.
And then you get to go and sell on top of that new customers.
So you can add new customer growth on top of that.
And then on top of that, you can launch new products to all of these companies and add more revenue.
So as part of your secret sauce, picking the right business model then?
Picking the right business model that means that when our customers succeed, we make more money.
