No doubt this is all timed around the announcement around sanctions and the 21st package finally getting over the line after some consternation there.
He has kind of repeated the message that Ireland fully supports Ukraine.
With great difficulty, actually.
It's quite a long process.
I travelled from Dublin to Krakow, from Krakow to a town called Rezhov, and then from Zhezhov, if I should pronounce it correctly, to Shemeshiel.
an even smaller town on the border with Ukraine that's become a bit of a key transit hub for Ukrainian refugees, both those leaving and returning to their home country.
But one of the things that really stood out to me in Chemyshchil at the train station was just how many Ukrainian refugees there are at the train station.
It was a long and winding queue, people young and old, men and women, looking to return and to escape from Ukraine.
Speaking to some of them, some of their stories are quite heartbreaking.
Getting into Ukraine then, it's a train, it's a very long train.
You leave from Shemeshil and you pass through the west of Ukraine.
It's around about nine hours, give or take.
But the train that we were on also stopped in Lviv for quite some time as well.
Not sure why, that was never disclosed, but certainly it didn't move for quite a while.
The train can't just stop at any given moment, given the threat of drones and missile attacks overhead.
That's correct, yeah.
He's got to travel the same way as we do, effectively.
He was on the same train as us.
My understanding is he flew into Zhezhov direct from Dublin and made the journey with us from Chemishiel to Kiev.
