What you told me is terrifying.
Like, I can't stop thinking about it.
And she said, try this.
She had an awesome Boston accent.
She was like one of these, she was sort of middle-aged lady, like heart of gold, straight shooter, tough as nails, buried three husbands, you know, whatever.
She was one of those ICU nurses, right?
I liked her enormously.
And she was like, try this.
instead of thinking about it like something scary, try thinking about it like something sacred.
She walked out like a hell of a thing to say to an atheist, right?
So, you know, for me, all those wonderful words like blessing and sacred, you know, they have beautiful secular meanings as well.
So I feel entitled to interpret them in my own way.
Something sacred is anything that allows โ as I was saying before, any work, any task, any knowledge, anything that allows people to live with more dignity, with less fear, more connection, more love that just helps the human condition a little bit.
Like that's sacred knowledge, right?
You know, it could be a minister.
It could be a shrink.
