No, I agree.
I think it's a slippery slope, right?
It's like, who do we support, who do we not?
It's tricky.
I 100% get it.
But I think in this case, they are very much part of the social fabric of our community.
They are an important part of the social fabric of our community.
I think as many speakers have mentioned,
They're always packed They're meeting area for our children for our seniors for you know, so many of our community members So anything we can do as a city to help them Land on their feet and and find another place within the city where they can thrive.
Yeah, if I can just add a quick comment on this.
Yes, everything costs money.
Everything is a trade-off.
But I think as we've heard from multiple members of the community today, this is a trade-off that many residents would be willing to make.
We are getting in lieu fees as part of this project.
This would, in a sense, represent a small reduction, a very, very small reduction in the grand scheme of things of the, what, 10 million or so lieu fees that we're getting
It's well worth it if we're able to keep these retail establishments in the city.
So I think this is a trade-off that you would find a lot of residents would agree to.
To basically do whatever they can to help the displaced.
But we can't put a dollar amount on it because we don't know what the city can or cannot do.
