I mean, a lot of people had jobs where they weren't able to say what they thought during COVID or whatever.

So, but, yeah, look, it is interesting.

is sort of a bit bare in Australia.

I've often said, you know, one of the issues the American democracy has had is a more mature social media scene for the right, which we're now getting.

I mean, you know, obviously your podcast gets a huge audience as well.

But there are others that are sort of emerging, which is great.

And I think, you know, I think the mainstream media are in panic mode.

I think they are, and they probably should be.

And it's sort of, when you think about it, it was kind of inevitable, wasn't it?

Because all this stuff now is available.

can get to a lot of people with not a lot of equipment.

And there's a lot of talented people out there who are willing to have a say.

And the other side to this is, of course, trying to shut it down by curating what people can say through free speech.

the australian christian freedom index project which is a very good document by the way people should look that up and have a look at they did a whole lot of stuff on uh on you know on the faith-based side of it but also they did a whole section on the incursions the legislative incursions on free speech over the last 20 years and i think there's something like 20 or 25 pieces of legislation that have literally shrunk the ability to speak your mind so you're talking about things like

hate crimes bills a lot of them different ones um you know uh you know various discrimination bills and what they've done to free speech so that's the other angle to this is is to try and make it very difficult for people to speak about issues that are really important without fear of getting sanctioned you know and we've seen it out of the us and the uk sorry i should say the us the uk um
