And it's funny because we have different perspectives because I know I work with littler ones and you work with.

Yeah, and there might be different ways that they're regulating with screens.

But for a lot of kids, screens, a lot of kids might be sensitive to different sensory input.

So those screens can provide the right kind of sensory input.

It's like they're getting the visuals they want, the sounds they want, but they're not getting all the unexpected touch or the social interaction or the overstimulating environments that a lot of the outside world provides.

Also, for a lot of kids, we see that they're watching the same videos over and over.

They're using a lot of repetition, and that can help them to feel safe, to feel comforted.

It allows them to dive into their special interests.

I've had a lot of kids, clients, who will just spend hours digging into videos and looking for pictures and screenshotting things of all their favorite show characters.

We know that there's a lot less social demand with screen time or at least a different kind.
podcast-host
Maybe it's not that you can't use screens for social reasons, but it's just that they may not be requiring like the perspective taking and the inferencing that comes with having conversations out in the real world.
