And that's something, you don't know what you don't know, right?
Like, but you know when you know.
So it kind of felt like all these secrets happened
that I wasn't privy to started to slowly become revealed because I paid a lot of attention over time.
I think the other thing too is I really loved the slide slams.
I haven't been able to participate in one in a while, but there, it was really interesting to see like who was chosen and who wasn't and what often, often it was image quality to be frank.

If you could really see what was there, it's a lot easier to talk about it.
If the images are not super, it's really hard to convey your work.
So I think that was one.
which is such a huge lesson.
It's like understanding what to apply to and what not to apply to.
There are things you could keep applying, but if you don't fit the matrix, you're not going to get it.
That application is not worth submitting.
But the one where you're unclear or the matrix is broader or you do fit completely into that matrix, that's where you should put your time and energy.
And how do you discern that?
How do you figure that out?
And that's, for me, that information that you clean, not necessarily by somebody giving you direct feedback, by attending to the feedback given to other people.
There's all these variables that we need to keep reminding each other we're not in control of.
It's not personal.
