And so we have to celebrate our efforts.
We have to keep supporting each other.
And I think artists by our very nature are kind of solitary creatures.
We don't tend to create in community.
So having the community support,
for that flip side, because you're not just an artist, right?
You're like an artist 10% of the time.
And then you're like a social media manager and a photographer and a photo editor.
Well, if you want a career, you have to do them.
If you don't want a career, then you can totally just make art, which is fine.
But I guess you then run into like these theoretical questions of
what is art in a vacuum?
What is the work if it's not in the world?
In my case, making work about environment and looking at community and having these active engagements with people, I like
their feedback I want to hear what they think I want to understand how the work moved them or or inspired them to maybe make a change like the the Chicago show was a great example of that so that's I think yeah so tell me a little bit about give give me a little bit of background on the Chicago show because um for everybody here was this a show with just you were there other artists like how did it come about all those things
So I did a couple of shows that I was invited to be a part of in that space.
And then I curated two shows.
And the first show that I was invited to curate was because I had shown a microscopy piece, which is like video imagery shot through a microscope of flora and fauna.
And they felt like
that imagery would be really strong.
