And this is something that the Blue Jays had the past few years with Gosman, Barrios, and Bassett, just anchoring the rotation through anything that came up.

But the two of them right now can overcome a lot of the challenges.

So I would actually, in the shorter term, I would probably be...

maybe like a six and a half, seven, somewhere in that range.

But I'm also going to maybe bump that up a touch over the course of the season because, again, I do worry about what is happening now and the strain that you could potentially be putting on some guys now, what that might mean down the road.

And also, you know, what happens if things go sideways for Shane Bieber, right?

What if Max Scherzer continues to have issues with his forearm?

Where are the Blue Jays turning to at that point?

So you feel good in a sense like this.

This is a number that could be down to like four or five in a couple of months or in a couple of weeks, even if all the health issues come along well.

But it could spike the other way.

And so to me, this is one of the areas where there might be the most volatility longer term, just because, again, they're dealing with a lot of unknowns right now, even as we speak, but also extending longer term as well.

One thing that, and we'll let the listeners in on this, but one conversation that you and I have had a lot over the years is just how do you make sure that you're not becoming a prisoner of the moment?

And how are you looking at it long-term?

Are we overweighing this right now in the here and now?

Are we underweighing this?

How is our assessment right now if you're trying to be as dispassionate as you can be, which is obviously how baseball executives tend to think as well.
