Because what was the significance of that stream?
So it used to be actually a food source for the people that lived around here?
And you mentioned earlier that people are wanting to daylight it.
How would we even go about something like that?
And so what would something like that, what would that entail?
Would we have to dig up kind of Queen Street to get it back?
To get here, we walked past the Grand Millennium Hotel and you were telling me about some tunnels that are connected down to the carpark.
So it's not all covered in...
If you go to the car park, you can still see the sign pointing out the access to Aotea Centre, but the entrance to the tunnel is boarded up.
It was permanently locked and gated to stop people from sleeping in it and accessing the hotel.
Directly underneath this tunnel now is a much bigger one, the CRL route between Te Waihoritu and Karanga Ahapē stations.
Could there be a chance of it reopening?
