You've followed the Steelers a lot.
You do a lot of media work around them and are still plugged into how they play week and week.
Do you feel like that was sort of a long time coming?
It's the right time for him to move on?
Well, put a pin in the quarterback thing, but I want to get back on your point of Mike McCarthy, because it's probably worth saying for people who don't understand.
The Steelers have had three head coaches until it was 1969, up until the end of the year.
So the Steelers way is long-term thinking, long-term building based on what coaches they have.
So Mike McCarthy coming in, obviously he spent a long time as head coach of the Green Bay Packers, had his time as the Dallas Cowboys.
We really got that offense kicking, but again, couldn't quite get over the line in the playoffs.
How much of that down to him, much of that down to the Dallas Cowboys is a lot of people for a lot of people to argue.
But in terms of what he's bringing in now, do you see this as the Steelers maybe changing their way and sort of saying we need to be maybe a little bit more like the other teams in the league.
We don't necessarily need to try and pick a head coach for 20 years.
We need somebody who's going to get us past the
the line now because as much as they keep they haven't had a losing season under Mike Tomlin they also haven't had a playoff win since the 2016 season and I feel like there's might be a bit of a push to just change something to see if they can get over the line yeah and that's what you want somebody that's going to help you get you over the hump and hopefully this particular move is going to allow that for whatever reason they weren't able to flourish and get to where you wanted to get to over the last few years
So that's an interesting one because if we talk about Aaron Rodgers, who we know has signed a deal now, he's going to be the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback for another year.
The first quarterback to win in Croke Park.
He might be the first one to win in the Stade de France when the Steelers play against the New Orleans Saints later on this year.
But what I find interesting about the decision, because I understand what Aaron Rodgers is getting out of it, right?
He's still trying to prove that he still has it.
