They do what they call a Clegg test on the ground where hammer drops and sees how soft it is and they want to have this consistency across that field.
They don't want to have their main field different to their training field so the surfaces are the same.
South Sydney would be doing all of that.
So they'll have a really good look at, you know, their cross training, what they're doing in the gym compared to what they're doing on the field and I suppose what they're doing on their days off and everything will come into play because it's been a big factor this year, you know.
They've lost some games.
Oh, it's an interesting one because if you're doing pathways, especially for the West Tigers, that's a big job.
You know, you've got out at Campbelltown, it's a big area.
West have got their own, you know, junior rep program.
They've got Matthews Cup, SG Ball, New South Wales, Jersey Flag, New South Wales Cup, and then the Tigers have got very, very similar.
So it's a big club to be pathways and something else.
Pathways is a big job on its own.
So assistant
When I started at the Sharks, well, when I was with Rick, I was assistant coach to Ricky at the Roosters and then went with him at the Sharks.
And then when Ricky left, I stayed and then I employed Steve Price from the Dragons.
He was head coach of the Dragons and got sacked and then put him on and he was outstanding for us.
And then, you know, over that period of time, he was there for most of the time.
But, yeah, I picked my assistant coaches and, yeah,
A lot of the time it was interesting, like some of them stood out, you know, like I just had a good feel about them, you know, when I spoke to them.
But I also, when I'm picking an assistant coach, I need to make sure they're different than me and they're going to give me a different version of, or they're going to assist me with what I perceive in my weaknesses, they're going to be their strength.
