Because the Vancouver Canucks drafting development from 06 to 2020 has been the worst in the league.
It hasn't changed.
And that has to change.
You can't keep robbing Peter to pay Paul to build up this franchise.
You have to build it through the draft.
And so it'll be really curious to see who they bring in as the general manager because it's going to really dictate who's going to be in their personnel.
I look at it this way.
It's a Fortune 500 company, the Vancouver Canucks.
And the players are just the output of the business.
And the players on the ice are just a reflection of the decisions you make and your amateur staff, your pro staff, your player development staff, your American hockey league, your analytics slash R and D department and your management and your coaching staff.
It's just a reflection of those decisions.
So right now, Vancouver's dead last.
So what have they been doing over the last four or five years for that?
Like what decisions have they made to reflect what's happened on the ice?
The worst team in the league.
It is what it is.
So reevaluate and audit what's really been going on the last three to five years and how and why are these decisions made and how did you get to this point?
Because just like sugarcoating that or bringing in a new GM may not solve your problems.
Like unless that general manager has full autonomy to make changes in the hockey operations department.
Are you asking me when it's capable for the Vancouver Canucks to be a Stanley Cup contender?
