And I would consider that more of a folk, I guess more of a folk style of songwriting.
Now, you can treat the music any way you want.
The best example for me is the Dolly Parton song, I Will Always Love You, because that's really a mountain girl writing a folk song, a folk love song.

I'm pretty sure it was David Foster who produced that.
Now it's like a whole other genre.
Same song.
So I think any good song that is written just for the art of writing a song and not for the sake of actually making a record.

And by the time I was in my late 20s, I was ready to rock country, I guess.
When I first got signed, I was intentionally writing my demos for Nashville, for country music.
And so I was thinking that, and I was very capable of that.
I was coming from a very deeply rooted country and Western childhood repertoire.
But the label was, I hadn't really been in the country music live scene for so long because the bar stopped hiring that
probably when I was about 12.
Okay, so I actually was out of touch of what country was when I got signed.
