A lot of people already use Venmo to pay their friends.
You can now set up a group and add your friends.
So this is great for something like a trip where you know you're going to have a bunch of expenses.
You enter everything that you paid.
It divides it evenly or you can say like, oh, no, actually.
this person owes more out of this expense than the others.
And then what it does at the end and on the fly is it does the math to make sure that everybody gets paid back in the least number of transactions.
It doesn't make it like you have to pay Lynn and Rich this amount.
It will combine it and say like, oh, you actually just owe Lynn and Rich owes you this amount.
So that's another option that a
Yeah, I was doing one of these on my own and doing the math to check Venmo, and math is not my favorite thing in the world.
I eventually got the same total as Venmo, but I was very glad that I wasn't having to do this constantly and that there are apps and services out there that do it for you very quickly.
One thing you should think about is do these apps sell user data?
Do they have ads?
If they have ads, it's pretty likely that those ad companies will have some information about you.
Two of the apps I used, Splitwise and Tab,
which is a receipt itemizer app.
They do not sell ads and they don't sell user data.
With AI, that is also complicated.
With Splitwise, they're doing all of the processing on your phone.
