Now there are a bunch of new apps that really just let you put in what you paid and then it lets you settle up at the end.

So you're not having to do all of this math in your head on the fly.

You're not having to keep track of things and go back later.

One app that kind of seems to serve most needs is called Splitwise.

This is a free app.

It lets you set up a group.

So say you and your friend Lynn and Rich and you're going on a trip and you can each enter in what you pay.

You can upload receipts.

If you're a pro subscriber, it can itemize those receipts for you automatically.

A new feature also for pro subscribers is you can link it to your bank account.

It will automatically show all of the purchases you made with your credit card.

And then you can just add it to the group and say, we each split this.

Basically, it's just keeping track of what you're spending.

And then at the end, it lets you settle up.

So it'll send you to Venmo or PayPal, or you can pay your friend with cash or whatever method you all agree on.

And it basically just does the math for you.
