Well, why would you vote for Trump when you know he's going to deport people who might be in your extended family, even if you're legal?
And they say, no, no, it's going to be fine.
What do you do with that?
That's like, I mean, by the way, I would think that the Latino men would sit very comfortably on the couch next to members of my family who are just like, I feel better with this guy.
I feel better.
Even if members of their family might be deported, but they think it's going to be okay for me.
Well, we will see in a few months whether it will be.
I think it's more the point of that's a perfect example to me
Even though I can't disagree with a word Charlemagne said as regards Trump himself, whether he and Anderson are right or wrong is less to the point for me.
It's a circular conversation among people who already fundamentally agree on their values and their choices.
And you're not reaching outside that bubble.
That's more my point.
I did see that.
I watched it a few times and I really thought about it because it's been a debate among my colleagues as to one of whom I quoted in my piece saying that we just have to face the fact that this country is racist and misogynistic.
And I think
Where I take issue with that is, well, number one, we did elect Barack Obama twice, and he won the popular vote, and he won the electoral college.
So if we're so racist, and let's say racist, I won't say misogynist, we haven't voted for a woman yet, although Hillary Clinton did win the popular vote in 2016.
How is it possible, right, that we broke through with that historic election of a very popular president?
But the thing that this gets to is if we in the media, and again, I'm talking about a media criticism here.
