And you share things in those moments with people that because you're in that vulnerable position, you're sharing things that you normally wouldn't share with anybody.

There are things that the people on my season know about me that nobody in my life still knows about me because that's what happens when you go camping for 20 some days and you ain't got anything else to talk about.

Eventually, you get to the point where it's like, all right, dude, what else is going on?

Well, don't you think in order to get to know who you're with, you have to kind of break down where they came from, how they feel about things.

You kind of get to know them in a kind of sneaky kind of way, too.

Yeah.

Yeah.

It's weird.

It feels like you hear survival players talk about the game and then like this other time.

And the game is happening all of the time.

I think what they mean is the strategizing versus the game.

Right.

And the strategizing is like, okay, the nuts and bolts of voting dynamics.

Who are we voting for right now?

But the game is managing personalities and communication and being social, but not too social.

That's the fucking game.

And the real bummer of it all, if there is a bummer to Survivor, is...

The real game happens in a four hour long conversation where you learn about someone's history and you start to realize like we have shared ground.

And OK, cool.
