I think these local elections are typically nonpartisan or are supposed to be.
Maybe they're everybody really knows who is a Republican or Democrat, I'm not sure.
But were you always a a Democrat?
W did you grow up as a Republican?
Did you s make that switch at some point?
And what's an example of those values that have changed?
It's hard to imagine uh um Bob Dole getting on board with making it harder to vote.
One of the questions I have for you is are you are you sure you want the job as governor in this climax?
You you know, we talk about this political division, the the the rhetoric that comes with that.
We're dealing with fallout from federal policies that are impacting the state.
Um, because of the some decisions the legislature has made in recent years, uh, we're looking at being in the red as a state financial crisis within a couple of years, maybe of this government.
Governor taking office.
And you have a a GOP supermajority in the the House and Senate.
Maybe that can be broken in the House.
We'll see.
But you know, Governor Laura Kelly has struggled with this at times.
She's had her moments, but you know, when you have that kind of uh power in the legislature, sometimes the Democrats are just entirely cut out of the conversation, including the governor.
How do you deal with all of that?
