Uh when they came back uh for this two-day wrap-up session, they they did actually get it over the finish line in terms of uh passing a bill that would require students to learn that uh socialism and fascism are bad, and then pass a civics test that's based on the US citizenship test. matched

Uh Governor Kathleen Sedilius was known for vetoing quite a few things, but I don't think even her number of vetoes rose to what we've seen under Lori Kelly in recent years. matched

You know, it's somewhat rare for a Republican governor to veto a bill that comes from the Republican legislature, but increasingly, uh we've seen this legislature refer matched

refused to work with the governor or Democrats in general. matched

And so just a shocking number of bills I think are getting vetoed every year. matched

This year the governor vetoed at least twenty four bills, um and also thirty-one line items in the state budget. matched

I think that's a lot. matched

Yeah, you would typically see some horse trading where maybe Democrats would hold their nose and vote for a bill that they don't like overall in exchange for getting, you know, some input into the finer points of it or a little piece of something they want added in. matched
