start hitting like the way that they can, I mean, that losses over a lot of things and helps cover things up.
So I think when you're struggling to score runs, every little thing gets magnified in a way that they don't when the offense is a little bit more plentiful.
And right now, it's just one little thing in different games that is being the difference between a win and a loss.
I think they'd like to see him continue his progression.
Actually, it's pretty interesting talking to Max Scherzer before the game against this matchup.
And one of the points that he made is that Trey Savage has had such an unusual progression, right?
Whereas...
getting outs in the post-season in a lot of ways is the hardest box to check in the course of your career as a pitcher.
And he did that first.
And now he's going through the normal grind of a season and getting through it and giving your team innings every five days.
And that's the piece that he's working through now.
And so it's,
not it's difficult in its own way but the most challenging thing that a pitcher would face in terms of succeeding on the postseason stage he has that now he's just transferring that to his in-season progression shot do you think dalton likes where he's at offensively
Dalton Barshow, yeah.
I chatted with him for a fair bit yesterday, and he's feeling much better about where it was.
And he talked about getting to a point where he was frustrated because he was being really rigid to a plan, going in there and thinking through, okay, Fitch is going to attack me this way, so I'm going to hunt here.
And then in at-bats, he'd be presented with a pitch that he could do some damage on, and then he wasn't swinging at it.
because he was just thinking so much.
And what he's done over the past couple of weeks is just try to not think, but to stop overthinking in the box, to trust himself, to be a bit more reactionary.
And that's allowed him to get to some pitches and some mistakes from pitchers that he otherwise would have, that he had been allowed to go by him.
