Uh, in case there's injury, in case the performance wanes, uh, you know, young players will inevitably go through some ups and downs and and periods of struggle.
So you have to protect yourself from that.
But
I can definitely see the Blue Jays going into the into the offseason thinking, okay, they're they're in a good spot in the center field if they can upgrade in some way, uh
That would be amazing, but I I don't know that
That's necessarily gonna necessarily be out there.
And then it's okay, how do you augment around that?
Do do you pick up the the Miles Straw option and keep him around the club?
And uh, you know, it essentially is a you know uh five million is five, five point two five million dollar decision because of uh the buyout in his deal.
So uh it's it's a pretty reasonable number uh for a player who's bringing kind of uh a backup role to the team.
So I I think the c yeah, it's
you you feel like, okay, there's a pretty good floor there, but you I think the blue gees will still need to protect themselves in some way, uh, in center field.
Well, I th he like he hasn't been around the club, but he's not far enough along in his recovery from surgery.
And if uh there's have been so many surgeries, he was like late Mayish, early June, I believe, for his surgery.
And so, you know, he's only gonna be twelve months out till that point next year.
So it's gonna be a couple at least two, three months of the season before he's ramping up in a meaningful way to be eligible eligible to get back.
So
Uh he's one of the many question marks the blue jays have.
Like he could be something for them at some point next year.
But when exactly is he gonna be ready?
