And they've also said that they're working with some other industry partners, including Amazon, others, to come up with a framework they hope to address any kind of concerns like this in the future coming from government about if there are holes in AI systems, how they can sort of resolve them on a more systematic rather than ad hoc basis.
Yeah, that was a surprise.
So they are going into the business now of actually doing in-house preclinical trial research.
They say to find drugs that may be unaddressed by the major pharma companies.
So that, you know, obviously it's still very new and they're just getting it up and running.

Yeah, I the company said this is really about optionality for them.
Um of course there are a lot of factors when a company's deciding to go public.
There's the market, how they stack up to their competitors.
So these could all be reasons, right, that that a company has in mind when they're thinking about the exact timing of going forward with the filing.

That's right.
You know, there's been a lot of talk lately in the AI world about the idea of self-improving AI, that these AI models are getting so good that researchers at the top labs are actually using them to program the next model.
And that's caused um both excitement but a lot of anxiety.
Uh we actually saw in uh Enthropic last week um come out with a blog post even calling for a potential pause if this turns out.
To really be the case that these models are sort of improving so quickly and getting out of control.
So I think you know Altman's Post is in a way in conversation with that and acknowledging this idea that the AI is starting to automate itself and weighing some of both the opportunities but also risks there.
It does feel like a race on every level right now between these two sort of top AI um firms, uh both at the technological level with the them releasing uh new models sort of neck and neck every few months, now even every few weeks on the um, you know, sort of ideological level about the direction that they're gonna go in, balancing the risks and the benefits, as well as just this IPO timeline.
So I think it's uh one of the closest.
Closest races certainly that I've ever covered in the tech industry and extremely competitive right now on every level.
