And I slack off like, yes, in a nine to five job, if you slack off, you still get paid per week or per month.
But if you slack off in your own business, the amount of money that you make drops because your customers, I don't have to owe you anything.
They can leave, they can move on.
They can find someone with a better service.
And as a result, it made me more self-motivated.
I was like, Oh, I actually, this is on me and I want to do more.
I want to do better.
And it kind of reminds me of a story of a friend of mine.
Their sister decided that she was like sick of working in corporate.
She did the proper corporate ladder thing, worked in a big company, like wore a fancy suit every day.
And I think she's been doing it for like five or six years.
She's like similar age to me.
And.
she just realized like she could not get further ahead whether it was racism she's an indian woman whether it was them expecting more out of her that she just didn't feel like she could do and her siblings were all business owners and so she kind of looked at her life in this like beautiful corporate environment and then she looked at her siblings lives and her siblings own
kind of just general businesses like they own, this is going to make me sound so Punjabi, but like liquor stores and suprits, like dairies, we call them in New Zealand.
In other countries, they'd be like the bodegas.
They owned those kinds of businesses.
And she realized that her siblings had more money
flexibility in their own time because they didn't have necessarily a boss, even though it was still hard work in another way.
