myself included, we don't do that well under the traditional corporate ladder.
I have found time and time again that to do well in the corporate world, it just requires a certain set of skills that not all of us possess.
Like if you've grown up to be taught to be polite and have a

It was like being in a whole different world.
And it felt, I mean, I wasn't even in proper corporate, I was in an optometry clinic, but it felt like, oh, there's a game that you have to play.
Some of us are really good at playing that game.
And they just, they know the right people to talk to.
They know like how to show off their skills.
And I
I feel like I've learned that how to do that within the business setting, but I've not learned how to do that in corporate.
And so for a lot of us, like we can work so, so, so hard, but our manager might not be the kind of person that gels with us and doesn't really put us forward to the next step.
And we keep running into these ceilings.
The glass ceiling is, you know, another name for it, but we keep running into these ceilings where it seems like no matter how hard we work, it doesn't result in more success.
Like if we work twice as hard, we don't get twice the reward.
That's very demotivating.
And so for women like myself that don't do well in corporate, suddenly being a business owner is very enticing because I kind of realized like if I work.
three times as hard, my output is going to be higher, not necessarily three times as high.
It's not like a linear relationship, but the more harder I work, if I own a business, the more money I will make because the more clients I will get, because the more income I will have and so forth.
