Every time he said something, he'd look at Ernie Els to see what the reaction was.
And then the other person to note is a guy called Johan Rupert, who is one of South Africa's richest men.
He owns, I think it's Cartier and a bunch of other luxury, luxury brands, I'm sure many of which have featured in Donald Trump's hotels over the years.
And that was the caliber of people.
He brought these white South Africans that moved in Trump's orbit to say, this is nonsense.
So it was really, really smart, strategic negotiating from President Ramaphosa.
Will it make any difference?
Well, they went into their closed room meetings and we'll probably find out tomorrow.
What did you think of that reporter's assessment?
So Larry Madowa is a fantastic reporter and he's spot on here.
It is the sheer quantity of lies that happened in such a short space of time and one after the other.
And of course, no sort of reflection on what President Ramaphosa or the other men, women he brought with him were saying.
That was quite astonishing.
You know, maybe Americans watch Donald Trump a lot and are more used to his style and his relationship with the truth.
South Africans are not.
We don't obsessively watch Donald Trump.
We read about him.
We see clips.
But to sit and watch him for an hour was quite a surreal experience.
And I think that the contrast between how Donald Trump presented himself and how he represented his country and the way that President Cyril Ramaphosa represented South Africa was incredibly stark.
