But I think trying to position it as
uh part of
the way of keeping an orderly
um debt market at a time when pretty much everybody
has as if not as a nagging suspicion, quite a quite a
a significant front of mind suspicion about the scale of US government debt and the pr and the unsustainability of that profile.
It is.
And and this is therefore about uh incrementalism.
And if you think that, you know, the sort of the the investors I speak to who think
pretty long term, um, about this.
recognize that um you know debates around um defaults on restructuring of government debt, debates around depreciation of currencies and inflation, debates around um financial repression, uh are probably all debates that need to be had if you think that the
demographics and the debt profile are on an unsustainable path.
Now, although n none of those three options, debt restructuring, inflation or financial repression,
are um particularly popular, um uh nor likely to be uh calmly delivered.
They're likely to be quite disruptively delivered if you look at countries like Argentina and Greece that have lived through some of those things in recent past.
One of the arguments that I the grown ups in the room in the US and I think all over the will
um world economies should be having is um
how can we incrementally introduce policies and stablecoins could be one that delays that moment of of political disruption and political pain?
Uh I mean it is a very fair question.
