And as a result, it means the only people who are meaningfully participating are the uber wealthy.
And that doesn't seem fair or right to me.
Like, we're actually statistically the best savers in the European Union, but we're the lowest participants or one of the very lowest participants in investments.
So there's a cultural piece, there's a financial literacy piece, but there is a tax piece.
The tax system is disincentivising people who are trying to prepare for their future.
And when we're talking about economic resilience, we can't just talk about it at a macro level.
We also have to talk, I think, about the economic resilience of every single household in Ireland.
