your job really is to look out for the vulnerable and to look out for those who are affected by something.

I try to make that point as politely as possible because I know it can be a difficult kind of thing.

But then also there's a large, large group, cohort of teachers out there who no longer share a faith or have a faith.

I think at the moment, the latest research by the Catholic Church themselves is that about 50% of teachers under the age of 50

don't believe in a personal God, which is an astonishing figure to me.

But we have a system, and I often say we have like a group of non-believing parents who send their non-believing children into a non-believing teacher whose job it is to teach them how to believe.

It seems like a very bizarre situation to be in.

So I don't know.

It's very hard because...

I guess it wouldn't be unusual.

Look, I mean, every, most faiths, you know, out there will have rites of passages and rites of passages are an intrinsic part of humanity, you know.

So, you know, it's not a coincidence that most faiths have a coming of age ceremony today.

you know, of when the child is born, when a child reaches the age of reason, when a child, you know, reaches the age of 12, 13 and so on.

Like these are, lots of religions have these sort of rites of passages and they become part of just living in a human, you know, kind of world and humanity and so on.

And, you know, the thing is, it just, in Ireland, it's overwhelmingly, I suppose, been traditionally around the Catholic faith and, you know,

Because again, not that long ago, Ireland, you know, was, you know, predominantly a country of Catholics and Protestants.

And that's how it kind of tends to work.

Yeah, and to be honest with you, I don't think there really is.

You know, I mean, when you look at how, let's say, communions are celebrated now, and I mean, as I say, for people of faith, you know, it still is a very important rite of passage.

And I don't have a problem, you know, of religions.
