kind of carry on and we tend our lives aren't binary things much more we're much more analog than the data would suggest you know that we care about things like if you could dial things up and down that would be more of a reflection of who we are I think
Yeah, and this crazy chaos is actually a great description of the way that we search for stuff.
We're searching for one thing in one moment and another thing completely in another.
And I've done these kind of analyses before where you've looked at, say, if somebody is searching for a particular TV show, what food do they also search for, for instance?
Or for a politician, what exercise do they search for?
Do they search for yoga or whatever?
And it's so interesting because we're two-screening our lives.
Basically, you're looking for something you're seeing on the news, but then you're looking for something you're trying to buy or whatever it is in that order.
It's astonishing, actually.
Yeah, it's interesting, isn't it?
I think that those things are very real.
There is a crisis of loneliness.
The former Surgeon General said that, and it was true then.
And you can see it through the other data.
What we often see through search data, though, is much more of a kind of like search for connection.
In a way, it's like feeling connected to others through our actions and the way that we live our lives each day.
I think that this is one data set, but it's something that I've never seen explored in this way before.
It's just one part of our lives, but it's a significant part, and it's an honest part.
And I don't know how many other parts of our lives where we're completely honest in that way.
