That money is just like, come on.
Like I know you want to, I know you're interested, and you have to just like not let it tempt you and to say to that money.
The only way I am going to not be tempted by you is to just close my eyes and to put you in a completely different like environment and a different bank account where I cannot see you.
And that way you don't even exist for me.
And so that is how I have found that I am able to manage lifestyle creep.
And when someone close to me is like, oh my god, Sim, like I just got a pay rise, or for like when my cousins are like, I got like a bonus.
like amazing.
Let's put it in a separate bank account.
If this is like a you know an important time or you really want some of it, sure, take like five percent out.
You can treat yourself with 5% of that bonus.
You can buy yourself a nice t-shirt.
That's all you're getting and you're gonna put it in a separate account.
And it sounds kinda simple, but
If you don't have the money to spend, you can't spend it and therefore you don't even have to worry about lifestyle creep because the money isn't available to purchase things with.
So again, sounds really simple, but I find it to be quite effective in avoiding lifestyle creep.
Now, the second way that I like to avoid lifestyle creep is being very aware when I am hanging out too much with just one group of people.
And this can happen on like either spectrum.
Like if I am noticing that I'm hanging out a lot with my friends that are super successful, that have done really well for themselves.
I mean, some of these friends are genuinely, genuinely what you would call the like top 1% in wealth.
