So 16 seems to be kind of the magic age.

We're told it's around insurance.

Obviously, jobs that would have been maybe open to you and I are no longer open due to licensing laws as well.

Absolutely.

Kids get bored and kids like to have money.

And I think life is a lot more expensive than when I was a teenager.

There's more wants and more needs.

They like to have their own money, to not be constantly looking to bank on mum and dad as well.

So my youngest child was 12 last year and the flá was in Wexford, the All-Ireland flá.

And she got her first taste of earning money because she busked with some of her friends and she earned enough money in the week to buy herself a pair of Adidas Sambas.

So amazing.

Well, look, you can employ them domestically as well.

You know, I definitely have my lads, they're not sitting at home now, hanging around, there's jobs to be done.

My own first job was I sold strawberries on the side of the road for my uncle.

Being from Wexford, we were deployed to various crossroads to sell the strawberries after we'd picked them in the morning.

So that's one as well that really seems to have gone, like, down here.

Absolutely.

Well, my son's first job was he was an elf at a Santa experience locally.

So that's the best of both worlds.

You can be a child, dress up as an elf, even though you're six foot tall.
