You know, really, because I was very much in love.

And I realized I was kind of okay.

And then I saw my typewriter.

That's back in the days of typewriters.

And I thought, well, you have nothing to lose.

Right.

So I wrote him a letter saying,

kind of love letter.

I hadn't declared my love, and neither had Paul.

So I did it, and with a lot of what I thought were amusing

That's right.

I mean, listen, after who knows how many letters I had in me before he came back, there certainly would have been a point where I would have said, it's over now.

Yeah.

But I thought, well, he hasn't answered, so give him another kick.

That was really the idea.

And then of course, you know, if he had really wanted to stay in his former life, he would have stayed.

I mean, and I certainly, after 43 years of living with Paul, I know that.
