And so if we're getting in the way of those opportunities for failing, I don't think we're preparing kids well for the real world.
We would argue this.
We want kids to have practice being away from parents in safe environments with good consistency.
And that can happen with grandparents, extended family members.

Aunts, uncles, trusted sources going to overnight camp.
