So I would say that was a big time highlight just because you felt like you were on a huge, huge story a little bit before everybody else.
The gold medal game and even the the semifinal for the Paris Olympics with Steph Curry just going bonkers.
I mean, he saves the U.S.
basketball dynasty twice.
I can hear the Canadians kind of roll their eyes.
You know, those were big games, super high stress games, incredible crowds and just the kind of things that you're like, well, it's kind of all downhill from here.
But to me, it's always the high level games that gets me the most excited.
You know, I was at every NBA final since I started with the post and including the bubble, which, of course, was a crazy experience.
Ninety three days ending with the Lakers championship.
So I would say those were some of the best moments for sure.
And how much of a shock was this with the Washington Post Sports Department shutting down?
Well, it was weird.
You know, there's no question about it.
I always said like they pretty much gave us free reign, whatever we wanted to do for six plus years.
And so in a lot of senses, it was a dream job.
I don't come away from this like super bitter or angry because they literally were just like, oh, you want to go to Iowa to write about Kalen Clark?
Oh, you want to write about Cooper flag?
Oh, you know, whatever pet story I might've had, let's follow Wemby around for the first two weeks of his NBA career and see how that goes.
