So expectations are sort of heading heading in the wrong direction, and you know, maybe a little bit of a surprise.

You might have expected um things to have sort of stabilised given given where the oil price oil price uh moves ha you know have have been over the over the month.
Um so so not not not welcome welcome news for for the Fed.
Yes, although I think I've read that the um Ch Fed Atlanta Fed GDP now was actually um ticked a little bit.
Higher.
Um but yeah, on in in terms of the the deficit, yeah, exports fell by three point two percent.
You know, this was driven by a fall in non monetary gold category.
Um, but imports were were up three point three percent and and driv driving this was an increase in capital goods component.
Um so you know, as you aw aware that sort of
component contains computer hardware and and chips.
And so the imports have reached a fresh record high in um for for the month.
Um so sort of I guess another unwelcome piece of news there.
Uh but sort of I think maybe maybe some of it was expected.
What I read was that sort of recent um surveys of the purchasing manager surveys have suggested that imports were going to be higher.
um as US companies sort of were stockpiling merchandise in an effort to front run any war related supply chain disruptions.
Yes, so goods.
It is a twenty five basis point increase in the OCR two two fifty is widely expected, although I think there are a small minority of of um economists in New Zealand who are expecting a a no change.
So it's a l little bit split split there.
