How'd you get out of there?
Well, I figured out that I needed to find a way to make a living in music.
And so I reached out to the only person I had left in my corner musically because at that point I had lost my record deal.
But I was still technically signed to UMPG Publishing.
And so I reached out to my point person there who I hadn't spoken to in years.
And I said, help me figure out how to make a living in music.
I've got to figure this out.
Because that's the only thing I really know how to do.
And I'm a dropout, so I can't really get a good job.
And I don't want to do that.
I met with her in New York.
I flew to New York and we just sat down and had like this long conversation.
