You know, one inherent limitation of state laws is that, you know, they're just like oftentimes a lot more expertise constrained or like don't have like the infosec practices the federal government does have when it comes to like handling some of this very sensitive information from the labs.

And so I think it's really, really exciting to also get to be in the room

and sort of like get to shape some of the implementation and enforcement things towards the very end of the process.

Yeah, I think that one thing that is really frustrating is that, you know, oftentimes you can get derailed by forces that are just entirely outside of your control, right?

Like there have been so many cases where we thought that we've like made a very compelling case.

We have like mapped out all the people.

We have like built up relationships.

We have like tried really hard to, you know, craft a pitch that was extremely sensible and sort of like navigate all of those trade-offs.

And like, you know, you're still going to get clobbered by industry at the end of the day, right?

And like, there's still going to be some army of like lobbyists that descend upon the

Sacramento or Washington or whatever and really get in your way.

And it sometimes feels like you just can't really do anything about that.

And you can feel kind of powerless in the face of just the enormous amount of money and political capital that is on the other end.

And the other thing is that obviously we have just gotten in the game in the past couple of years, whereas a lot of these big tech lobbyists, these are familiar faces who have been building up relationships over a

predating a bunch of AI stuff over the past like five years, 10 years, 15 years, right?

And so sometimes it can feel like the odds are stacked against you and things can go sideways, not even as a result of anything that you've done wrong.

And so I think that there is that element to it as well.

And I don't want to downplay how frustrating that can be.

And, you know, of course, you know, right now I'm like riding the wave of some of our recent political success, but this has definitely not always been the case.

And we have had plenty of things that have failed.
