I've had some of the best dumplings of my life there and it was always a New Yorker who would take me somewhere that was a hole in the wall, which it sounds kind of like this might have been to.
It's sort of a nice kept secret, or was it packed with people?
Yeah, you know, I've been giving these farmer's market tours in Portland and I give them both to people visiting town and to locals.
And actually giving tours has made me want to take tours.
Both here and in other places more.
Because I'm like, oh yeah, there's just stuff you absorb as someone who loves a place that's really hard.
to know about unless you've spent a lot of time in that city or in that environment or studying that one thing.
Sometimes I didn't realize how much I knew about the market till I started giving the tours.
And so it makes sense to me that also someone who's moved to a city, they fall in love with it.
And they get to know it so deeply out of that passion for the place.
It's just such a nice reminder of how special it is to take a tour when you're traveling.
Cause I d haven't done that enough when I've traveled.
